With simplicity, soul and urban landscapes, Dado Sa presents the song Sousas.
What is the best summary of this launch?
Following with the mixture of bossa nova and world jazz influences, this album "Alegria de Viver" of original compositions, strolls through melodies with nylon guitars, guitarles, trumpet, lots of percussion and harmonious vocals. The lyrics of joy, positivism, faith and nostalgicism use forms of urban and colloquial poetry.
What do you sing in this song, what is your message?
In this song I go through the images of the region of Sousas in the state of São Paulo. The rivers Atibaia and Ribeirão das Cabras, the people of Sousas and Joaquim Egídio... the forest, fauna like João de Barro and other things sometimes colloquial but always beautiful like pastel at the fair. Sung with affection and nostalgia. The greatest message is that our soul clings to places that go beyond what is seen, but also everything that is felt in the soul and connects physical and metaphysical.
What was the source of inspiration for composing "Sousas"?
The song Sousas is a poetic affection dedicated to the city of Sousas in the region of Campinas, SP. It is there that I have my residence in Brazil and all that beauty of the region with its affectionate people, green forests, rivers, birds and animals always touch my heart... there comes the longing when I am road outside and there came the song with a footprint of Bossa and toast... My musical partner Derek Banach's trumpet gives a general jazz pinch to composition.
I found music production, instrument use and recording curious. What was your comment on this?
I was glad you asked about the music production. The goal here is truly organic. I always look for a very acoustic sound in my recordings a lot depending on my instrumental choices... guitars, ukuleles, a lot of percussion and wind instruments, focusing a lot on the lyrics, melody and poetry of the song. I try not to interfere too much with what the original sound would be if the listener were watching me play solo or with a group in a cozy party corner. This album was entirely recorded in my acoustic balcony studio.
Are there any curiosity about the launch you want to highlight?
Curiosity and naturalness is always trying to record and release songs that touch the heart, soul and beautiful path of melodies and songs... and having this opportunity to express myself here in the Lupa Na Song brings joy... Joy of living.
